During her five seasons working for Major League baseball, Kelly Frank experienced ballparks from a unique perspective: that of Tampa Bay Rays team mascot Raymond.
She’s performed at 13 MLB parks (10 minor), the 2004 opening series in Japan, 4 All Star Games, the 2008 World Series, and visited another 12 MLB parks (12 minor). In addition to the Rays, she worked 2011 spring training as “Ace” the Toronto Bluejays mascot. In 2007 she launched AMAZING!! Mascots, Inc. a mascot costume design firm (http://www.amazing-mascots.com)
Dugout Dancer the blog is a collection of ballpark reviews and anecodotes from Kelly’s 9 years in baseball as she attempts to visit the 7 parks remaining on her list (Cardinals, Reds, Nationals, A’s, Angels, Dodgers, Padres) along with three new ballparks (Marlins, Twins, Mets). She is amazed at the fact that 3 of the ballparks she visited no longer exist (The Vet, Shea Stadium, Yankee Stadium) and hopes Fenway never meets that fate. She’s excited the Marlins no longer have to play in the worst venue in baseball.
